Welcome to SCHEMA. These Terms of Service ("Terms," "ToS," "Agreement") govern your access to and use of the SCHEMA Network, including any content, functionality, modules, and services offered on or through schema.network (the "Network" or "Service"), operated by the SCHEMA Foundation (or its designated operating entity, "SCHEMA," "we," "us," or "our").
Please read these Terms carefully before you start to use the Network. By accessing or using the Network, creating a Node account, or by clicking to accept or agree to the Terms when this option is made available to you, you accept and agree to be bound and abide by these Terms and our Privacy Protocol, incorporated herein by reference. If you do not want to agree to these Terms or the Privacy Protocol, you must not access or use the Network.
1. Definitions
Key terms used throughout this document are defined in our SCHEMA Glossary, which forms part of these Terms. These include, but are not limited to: "Node," "The Collective," "Pulse," "Module," "Seed," "Grid," "Cluster," "Zone," "Architects," "Guardians," and "Agents."
2. Eligibility & Account Responsibility
2.1. Eligibility:
You must be at least 16 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to create a Node account and use the SCHEMA Network. By using the Network, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
2.2. Node Accounts:
To access certain featur s, you must register as a Node. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials (e.g., password, private keys) and for all activities that occur under your Node account. You must notify SCHEMA immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3. Acceptable Use of the Network
You agree to use the SCHEMA Network in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws, rules, and regulations, and in accordance with our Code of Conduct. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:
- Engaging in any activity that is illegal, fraudulent, or harmful.
- Harassing, abusing, threatening, or defaming other Nodes.
- Distributing spam, malware, viruses, or other malicious code.
- Infringing upon the intellectual property rights of others.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Network or its systems.
- Interfering with the proper working of the Network or any activities conducted on the Network.
- Using the Network for any purpose that violates the SCHEMA Manifest or Code of Conduct.
4. Content, Contributions, and Intellectual Property
4.1. Node-Generated Content:
You retain ownership of the intellectual property rights in the original content and contributions you create and submit to public or project-specific areas of SCHEMA ("Node Content"), such as code for Modules, content for Knowledge Archives, or materials for "Seed" initiatives, subject to any specific licensing terms chosen for that contribution.
4.2. License to SCHEMA and The Collective:
By submitting, posting, or displaying Node Content on or through public or collaborative areas of the Network, you grant SCHEMA and The Collective a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, adapt, modify, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform, and display such Node Content in connection with operating, developing, and promoting the SCHEMA Network and its mission. The specific terms of this license for different types of contributions (e.g., open-source code for Modules, Creative Commons for documentation) may be further defined in our Contribution Guidelines or per-project licensing terms.
4.3. SCHEMA Intellectual Property:
The SCHEMA Network, its underlying technology, its name, logo, visual identity, core Modules developed by SCHEMA Architects, and all related intellectual property are owned by SCHEMA or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use SCHEMA's trademarks or branding without our prior written permission, except as permitted by our Brand Assets guidelines.
5. Pulse Economy
The SCHEMA Network incorporates a native digital token known as "Pulse." Your acquisition, holding, and use of Pulse are subject to the terms outlined in the Pulse Economy Protocol (and any associated whitepapers or documentation). Pulse is intended as a utility token within the SCHEMA ecosystem. It is not a security, investment, or financial instrument. SCHEMA makes no representations or warranties regarding the value, stability, or future prospects of Pulse. You acknowledge the inherent risks associated with digital tokens and decentralized economies.
6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
6.1. As-Is Basis:
THE SCHEMA NETWORK AND ALL ITS CONTENT, MODULES, AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE.
6.2. No Guarantee:
SCHEMA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE NETWORK WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR USEFULNESS OF ANY INFORMATION ON THE NETWORK.
6.3. Limitation of Liability:
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SCHEMA, ITS ARCHITECTS, GUARDIANS, AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR YOUR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE NETWORK OR ANY CONTENT OR SERVICES THEREIN, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE, AND EVEN IF A REMEDY SET FORTH HEREIN IS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF OR ANY INABILITY TO USE ANY PORTION OF THE NETWORK OR OTHERWISE ARISING OUT OF THIS AGREEMENT, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (I) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO SCHEMA FOR ACCESS TO THE NETWORK IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (II) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100.00), IF YOU HAVE NOT HAD ANY PAYMENT OBLIGATIONS TO SCHEMA, AS APPLICABLE.
7. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SCHEMA and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, actions, demands, liabilities, and settlements, including without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, resulting from, or alleged to result from, your violation of these Terms or your use of or access to the Network, or your Node Content.
8. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction - e.g., the jurisdiction where the SCHEMA Foundation or legal entity is registered], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any disputes. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree that any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the Network shall be instituted exclusively in the federal or state courts located in [Your City, Your State/Country]. You waive any and all objections to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and to venue in such courts.

9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your Node account and access to the SCHEMA Network immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms or our Code of Conduct. Upon termination, your right to use the Network will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
10. Modifications to Terms
SCHEMA reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect, typically via network announcement or by posting on this page. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Network after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
11. Miscellaneous
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and SCHEMA regarding our Service and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
